Sarah Sultan

Senior Psychologist

Every child deserves a safe space to heal, grow, and thrive. My mission is to nurture young minds with empathy, evidence-based strategies, and unwavering support, ensuring they have the foundation for a resilient future.

Biography

Sarah is a practicing psychologist with experience working across age groups, from children to adults. She began her career training at Dhaka Shishu Hospital and later worked with SEEP during the COVID-19 pandemic, where she supported members from low-income families to improve their mental well-being and quality of life. Much of Sarah’s motivation comes from her natural fondness for children - something that extends beyond her profession, as she often spends her free time tutoring neighborhood kids and would actively take part in volunteering for children events. This early passion guided her toward a postgraduate degree in child psychology, which she completed in 2018. Since then, her work in applied field has expanded to include adult clients, and she continues to address each case with empathy, patience, and a strong belief in holistic, client-centered approach. Sarah has also contributed to research, including a published epidemiological study on adolescent mental health in the slums of Dhaka. Over the years, she has developed a broad skill set that includes developmental assessments, behavioral observation, interviewing, counseling, survey administration, and building trusting therapeutic relationships. Whether working with young people or adults, Sarah is committed to not just supporting diagnosis and treatment, but also educating and empowering individuals and families to take charge of their mental health with compassion and confidence.

Awards & Education

She holds a Master’s degree in Child Psychology from UCSI University in Malaysia and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mazoon University College in Oman. Her work as a Psycho-Social Counselor for SEEP's PEACE Project in Dhaka involved providing critical mental health and psychosocial support to underprivileged children, especially those impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Sarah also worked as a Child Psychologist at Dhaka Shishu Hospital, where she conducted assessments, applied therapeutic strategies, and provided psycho-education to families.

Additionally, her training at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Oman equipped her with comprehensive clinical skills, including diagnostics, psychometric testing, and mindfulness techniques. Proficient in administering various psychological assessments, Sarah is known for her empathetic communication style and her commitment to supporting clients with psychological needs in achieving mental well-being.
